Works for me! I'll bring extra gas.

They say trees are 90% air. Personally I think they are 100% tree.

I believe there was about 25 people in Ottawa. See the thread, there are lots of pictures too. We had 14 in Basic/Sportsman which bodes well for the future.

Jim, an idea... I know a lot of new people find the 2-day commitment limiting for participation, maybe you could consider featuring a 1/2 day contest-within-a-contest as part of the weekend, for club members or nearby pilots? See the Great Hobbies intro challenge outlined at the top of the main page of www.scaleaerobaticscanada.com . Anyone who enters gets entered in a draw for a 100cc airplane donated by Great Hobbies. If you can get a couple of local pilots interested, it could be a good investment for the future, to revitalize IMAC in your area. It's kind of late to organize, I know, but a couple well placed emails could probably recruit a few local people (especially with the incentive of 100cc plane, and maybe of seeing a couple of freestyle or IMAC demos at the same time!) You wouldn't need a huge number of participants to make it fun.

Isabel

I might be able to squeeze one day (Saturday) I wish it didn't fall on the weekend of the US Nats. Gotta drive 9 hrs on the Sunday to make it there for the Monday morning.

Re: Flying Tigers Scale Aerobatic Encounter 2012

Just got a note from Mike Roxberry about coming.

He's asking for recommendations of places to stay.

Suggestions?

Wow, that would be great to see Mike make the trip. Probably have to stay back up in Stoney Creek area but that's less than 20 min drive I believe. Jim or Mike M should be able to recommend something.

Hi Rick,

We are kinda isolated where we are. As Bill mentioned the closest hotels are about 20 minutes away.

The two closest are The Super 8 Motel in Mount Hope by the Hamilton Airport and Canadian Warplane Heritage. Not much around their for food but another 7 minutes away there are a tonne of places to eat.

Super8 Mt Hope Hamilton Intl Arpt ON
2975 Homestead Dr
Mount Hope ON L0R 1W0 CA
Phone:1-905-679-3355
Fax:1-905-679-5109
http://www.super8.com/hotels/ontario...hotel-overview

A better choice might be:

Comfort Inn
183 Centennial Pkwy. N.
Hamilton, ON, CA, L8E 1H8
Phone: (905) 560-4500
Fax: (905) 560-6223
http://www.comfortinn.com/hotel-hamilton-canada-CN268

It's a straight run up Centennial Parkway to the field, about 20-25 minutes. There are a lot of restaraunts and othe amenitiies in the area. I believe contestants from past contests have stayed there before.

There is also a Holiday Inn Express about another 2 minutes further from the Comfort Inn. It is right when you get off the QEW onto Centennial Parkway.

Holiday Inn Express
51 Keefer Court Qew & Centennial Pkwy. Exit 88
Hamilton , Ontario L8E 4V4 Canada
Hotel Front Desk: 1-905-578-1212
Hotel Fax: 1-905-578-6468
http://www.hiexpress.com/hotels/us/e...ail/directions

Those are the closest.

Mike may have already stayed in either the Comfort Inn or the Holiday Inn as Mike & Mike came to Stoney Creek the one yaer we had the NATS there.
