li-poly batteries ???

Can someone tell me the difference between the new AE-LP li poly batteries, the poly-quest and hiflight packs. Or for that matter any of the li-po batteries out there now. What I am looking for is the best bang for my buck. Like a lot of flyers out there I am learning this electric stuff the hard way.
Thanks Ted

I would say the best bang is Thunder power lipos. Just my humble opinion.

I would agree Thunder Power Pro-lites (Brown beige stripe) are about the best right now. They really can put out the 'C' rating they advertise - something other batteries I have tried did not.

My 3S 1320's are good for 19 amps all day and I push them upto 22 for bursts with no issues.

Check RC groups on the batteries and chargers forum - especially the graph vault thread (sticky at the top). Most cells are made by only a handful of actual manufacturers. TP Prolites are good, but the enerland cells (Hyperion, Flightpower, Polyquest XP) are a little stronger. Epower is supposed to be coming out with a low cost 20-25C cell too (Also on RC Groups interesting thread with graphs - they're undergoing independent testing right now).

I have TP2100 3S Prolites and Polyquest XP 1800 3S packs and like them both. I fly them on Trex 450s with good results. I managed to cook several G2 TP 2100s though the prolites are my replacements.

I would disagree that the Enerland cells are stronger, if you look at RC Testers plots of the PQ XP 2100 cell vs the TP PL 2100 cell the PL holds better voltage, and the PQ while claimed to be 20C doesn't make it to 18C....if you go by weight then you can pack more mAh into a Prolite than an Enerland cell which in turn gives you more discharge potential. Prolites are lighter than anything else, especially as you start ramping up the xP's and getting big capacity.

Gen2's had a lot of problems...they were made in a different factory then the Prolites are.

You will be hard pressed to find packs that have the same capacity, same weight, and same discharge potential as the TP Prolites. Then it will all change again in 3 months lol.
