Where to buy batteries online in Canada?

I spent hours last night Googling for places besides HobbyKing that sell LiPo batteries, but unfortunately I haven't had any luck. Every online seller I found was either out of stock, did not ship to Canada, or only sold very expensive batteries which I don't want. The reason I don't want to use HobbyKing is because I'm tired of them forcing me to use their FedEx shipping option and then charging me an additional $30 for it. That shipping fee just isn't worth it for a single battery.

What I'm looking for is a 3S pack of 4200mAh or greater. Since I'm new to this hobby and will mostlikely make a lot of mistakes in handling these batteries, I'd like something cheap (under $45) but also something that isn't dangerous to use. Could anyone please recommend online retailers within Canada that sell the kind of batteries I'm looking for?

I've already ruined the first battery I had by letting it intentionally discharge completely. I thought LiPo batteries were no different than alkaline batteries and that I'd be able to charge it back up without any problems. So yeah, I expect to make more stupid mistakes like this later on which is why it's important that my next battery is cheap.

Try Revoelectric....just order 2 5c 5100mAh lipos...under $150 delivered including duties and taxes by FedEx. Batts seem to be made to order....you can check their site for a 5-10% discount code.

Re: Where to buy batteries online in Canada?

With respect to the battery that you ruined, I have done the same thing twice, to the same battery. If it's dead flat, put it on a nicad charger, at a low setting for about 5 minutes, then try it on your lipo charger... It should come back. I have been using the battery that I mentioned above, for the last two years, without any further problems.

When you try to resurrect it, stay near to it, and keep an eye on it... just to be safe.

I actually did try that, but what ended up happening was that only two of the cells got charged, while the other two remained at under 1 volt. If I try balancing the pack now, the charger just throws an error because of how large the voltage difference is between the cells.

Re: Where to buy batteries online in Canada?

Oh, that's not good! It was worth a try though. Some guys who know more about lipos than I do, would open it up, remove the two good cells and make a two cell battery out of it. I'm not that good with soldering... If would go to the battery recycle box if it was mine.

Yeah, I'm going to cut out what I can from it and send the rest to the recycle. Anyway, I just stumbled across a new brand of LiPo called "Lion Power". Has anyone ever used these before?
