Hello

I was in the same boat last year. I purchased a Blade CP as it was cheap and I saw a guy fly one. I managed to teach myself how to hover and am getting quite good now. If you are on a budget, the CP is the way to go, I would upgrade and get the CP Pro though. Its about the same price with relatively the same parts. It has much better electronics though. Mainly the gyro. Some say the CP is not good in wind. I didn't have much of a problem in moderate wind myself. If you have any questions, PM me.

Simulator

I forgot to mention that you took the right first step by flying on the sim. It will help you out very much. I wish I had one when I started.

I second the SIM idea! I started with HeliSimRC (freebee) and now have Aerofly Pro. The FMS program that came with my Honeybee FP isn't very good but it would still teach the basics. A sim is all about muscle and eye co-ordination, and learning to act instinctively with the controls. If you want great scenery and being able to view from any angle etc. play with your MS Flightsim 2004 or FSX. If you want to learn to fly heli's properly, use your sim till your sick of it, then use it some more by cranking up the sim speed and wind factors. SIm....Sim....Sim, it will save you a bazzillion dollars in parts!!!!
