Blade CP pro help..

I have a used Eflite CP pro heli.... It's complete but the FM 4-1 receiver is missing the crystal. Crystals for this are no longer available... Is there comparable crystals..... Or can ditch the 4-1 unit for separate receiver, gyro, esc units???? I just want to fool around with this heli as it's complete with several upgrades to it... Don't want to give up and ditch it.... Kinda nostalgic..
Thanks in advance...

Dave

Re: Blade CP pro help..

If it is a CP Pro it should have a 3in1 unit and a separate Rx taped together. You just need to pry off the Rx and install your 2.4ghz Rx.

Re: Blade CP pro help..

I picked the CP Pro for my first heli against all suggestions otherwise, should have listened LOL. I still have two, I have done all the mods back in the day, direct drive gws tail motor and 370 inrunner brushless motor. I also used a 2in1 controller from a blade SR with a seperate Rx and gyro. If you are interested I may have an original Rx and Tx with crystals in the parts bin.

Re: Blade CP pro help..

I am pretty sure that Big Boys with Cool Toys has those crystals in their cabinet. They will mail them to you but they are not listed on the website. If that does not work, Horizon does carry the originals and they run about 10US per set. Most FM 72mHZ crystals will work and you do not need to get specific manufacturers crystals to the best of my knowledge. Those are old parts and even at full retail, should not run much over 20. You can also try some of the old shops like John's Hobbies, AJ's, Hobby Home, and local to you, the ZoomRoom. The part numbers are listed in the manual of the CP but if you can't find it, the part numbers all start with EFLH and are as follows (bladehelis.com has them listed when you search for "crystals" ): 1017, 1019, 1021, 1050, 1052, and 1054. Good luck.

Don

Re: Blade CP pro help..

Now you have a problem because the transmitter has to be tuned to the crystal. I have a Futaba crystal set on channel 34. I will take $20.00 for them. PM me for payment and shipping. I suspect you will need access to an oscilloscope and tune the antenna tuning slug to just below peak.
