Perry Pump & Carb Question

Remove this ad - become a site supporter!
Hi Everyone: I just purchased from a fellow modeler a NIB OS 60 FSR w/ perry pump & carb vintage mid 80's, and was taking a close look at it. I noticed that the high speed needle valve clip assemby is rather loose, in other words as the throttle is advanced or retracted, it is actually coupled to the needle valve itself, causing it to rotate slightly back and forth also. Is this normal? I'd appreciate input from those who have experience with this type of pump/carb set up. Thanks,

Eduardo

The older Perry pump is basically just a friction fit as you describe. However, it should not change while engine is running. Advise to maybe do a bench run and see if it remains constant.
