Great videos Steve. we had a lot of fun that day.

The days are getting longer and the temperature is slowly climbing, really looking forward to some spring flying.

Great seeing everyone.

Cheers,

Re: New giant P51 thread, hijack this one PLEASE!

Hi guys,

Firstly a huge thanks to all that have contributed to the previous and this thread. I have already picked up so many hints ans tips from here.
I have just purchased my Top flite Giant P-51 ARF and cant wait to sink my teeth into it.

So far I have only ordered the kit and the full Electric Retract setup from Robart.

One question I have is do I go for the Da60 or Da50r, I will be running a Keleo exhaust and a Biela 4 Blade prop.
What do you guys think?

cheers Bobby

Re: New giant P51 thread, hijack this one PLEASE!

Hi Bobby Nice of you to join in.

One in our sqaudron of Mustangs, flies it with a DA 50, and it flies very scale.
Now the DA 60 would give it that extra power the 50 lacks.

I would go with the 60. It never hurts to have extra power expecially when you need it to get out of trouble, like a missed approach.

I think I remember the owner of the DA50 Mustang, saying that he would have liked a little extra power, maybe he will chime in and give us his opinion.

"What do you say Mike"

Cheers Bobby and good luck with your build, show us some pictures when you get a chance..

Re: New giant P51 thread, hijack this one PLEASE!

Bought a TF Giant P-51 and a DM 55cc gas engine from Hobbyking. I also bought the $113 Hobbyking elctric retracts for planes up to 15kg. They look ok, but we'll see. They are made by RC Lander. Bought good servos though. Mostly Hitec HS-645 and 4 of the HS-5645 for ailerons and elevators. Low budget TF Giant P-51. Got 2 of the 22x10 carbon props from HK too. I'll let you know how it goes. Cheers
