What would you do..need advice.
Not sure where to post this but need some friendly advice.
A few months ago I sold a something to a fellow member which I listed as used etc...it works great but no longer needed. So here is the dilemma, the member is now selling it but has listed it as brand new, never used. Do I just let it go or do should I post in his thread? I know as a buyer I would hate to buy something that was misrepresented, but at the same time I hate people who stick there noses in other people's business. Thanks

Re: What would you do..need advice.
Send the current owner/seller a PM stating that you know he is misrepresenting the item. Hopefully he will edit the ad.
Bill

Re: What would you do..need advice.
I agree with bill. Send him a PM.
If his mailbox is full, then he cant get PM's from people interested in making a purchase. The other option is to go to his ad and say "Tried to PM you, Your mailbox is full, can you PM me?"

Re: What would you do..need advice.
Since his mail is full, I would write on his blog
''Is it the same one you bought used from me?''

Re: What would you do..need advice.
You have to be careful! Do you know for a fact that he does not have a new one? When shopping on line, The lack of information and miss representing an item is a big problem. I have been shopping on Ebay for twenty years. Here is an example: A guy sold three six channel 2.4 receivers to another club member. He just never told the buyer that he had two crashes with these receivers and the guy he bought them from had three. That used lipo battery with three flights on it you are thinking about buying probably has seventy flights on it. I had one guy claim the engine I sold him was not what I advertised. I told him to send it back. The engine I got back was not my engine. Another guy had been advertising for parts for his engine. He purchased my engine that was identical. When he received it he claimed that my engine was defective and that I should return his money plus shipping so he could return it. The old saying is "Buyer Beware", no matter what the seller claims only pay for an item what you consider a good price for that item in good shape. If he does not answer your PM's put a reply in his post.

Re: What would you do..need advice.
Hey Botts,
have you tried to call him on the phone since you can't send him a PM? After exhausting all your efforts if you still can't communicate with him, then by all means post a thread on his ad so he can be exposed - you may upset 1 club member , however it far outweighs the favor you are doing to the rest of the buyers using this site. |

Re: What would you do..need advice.
Sorry
I thought this thread had died since no one had responded for couple weeks. Anyway I did contact him via PM and he genuinely thought it was brand new (although my ad did specifically state it was used and no longer required). After clarifying with him, he posted a note within his thread stating that the item was used....so all is good. Thanks again everyone for your opinions....As someone who has previously received items that were not as described, I did not want someone to experience it. Fortunately it was on a different board and all of my experiences on RcCanada have been and continue to be positive.
