Warbirds over the Bay, the second annual event, will be held July 23 and 24, 2011 at the home airfield of the Burlington Radio Control Modelers, 1600 King Road, Burlington, ON. Weekend camping will be available (No Hookups). For additional details until the new flyer comes out, check with the CD, Paul Chitty at pchitty@cogeco.ca. Last year's (2010) attendance exceeded our expectations with pilots, aircraft, and spectators. Paved runway, 300 x 40 ft with parallel grass strip. Food will be available and pilot prizes. Sponsors include Model Airplane News, MAAC, Great Planes, many of the surrounding hobby stores, and local restaurants.

Bill, I added the picture of the three PT-17's for you.
Were you there as a flyer last year?

Darn it, Bill, unfortunately I do not remember, but please the next time you are in the area, please introduce yourself. Your son is just a little guy, is he flying yet???, for some reason, from your posts, I assumed that you were an old guy like me.....lol. Next year, bring a plane, and the SOMA will be held again at the Stoney Creek airfield in August. Not sure of the date yet, but will be there as well, and any type of aircraft is allowed there, even that 3D stuff....ooooopps, better keep that to myself!!!!

Just as an aside, we will be having an informal 'Frost Fly' January 1, 2011 starting about 9:00 AM. Bring a plane introduce yourself to the gang, we are sociable!!!, and join us for coffee and maybe some chili etc. I will be there as usual, but I will not be flying the Norseman that I had at WoB, it will be something simple with skis if required, otherwise wheels.

We fly year round here.

Re: Warbirds over the Bay - Burlington, ON, July 23/24-2011

Thanks Bill, yes young Mason was on the sticks when he was 5. He is now 7 and flys very well, mostly electric though. He has always had sensitive ears but that seems to be going away so he will be on the 40 size glow this summer.
Santa will be bringing his first kit this Christmas that he and I can assemble together and no I'm not an old guy like you. LOL
You and I are minutes from one another so lets hook up for coffee and show&tell.

regards Bill
