Re: Triple Build... Yellow Aircraft F18
Awesome!! Thanks Sean! I'll go over the thread this afternoon and will get in touch with him.
Peter Woo has been going nuts on the scale details on these... scale parts on the fuse, scale parts on the LG, full light systems, fully detailed cockpits, etc!!! |

Re: Triple Build... Yellow Aircraft F18
This morning I got all the boxes unpacked for one of the F18's. Lots of stuff.
Game plane is to get one of the F18's about 3-4days along and then start the second F18 and try to keep a 3-4 day stagger on the build steps. Will help me catch a problem and not mess up both of them, LOL. My F18 will be first (shown)... Peter's will lag behind a few days. These jets are huge. Not going to be much room left when I get 2 of these in the shop From what I can see so far, these Yellow kits are crazy high quality. The sheets of CNC router cut parts are a work of art alone |

Re: Triple Build... Yellow Aircraft F18
Only 573 steps in the instuctions, LOL!! I got 6 of them done this afternoon with help from my kids My oldest wanted to help, so against Mom's better judgement, I let him glue the elevator control horn boxes together with Hysol
Also got the doublers on one of the rear formers. |

Re: Triple Build... Yellow Aircraft F18
Luckily the fuse has a cross-hair in the molding where the elevator shafts will pass through the fuse. Got my first 2 holes drilled in the virgin fuse, so all is good now, LOL.
The CF tube is just for alignment purposes. After doing a bunch of measuring, I'm super impressed with the alignment... bang on. Kudos to Yellow Aircraft for the precision here. |

Re: Build Thread... A few Yellow Aircraft F18's
Sure is Jack!! But I can't think of a better way to pass the winter away, LOL
Here's a start of the rear formers with the control horn boxes. Once this is fitted in place, it'll get a serious going over with Carbon Fiber Awesome fit of the parts... A double to the quality of this kit. |
