Well a friend was inquiring to go this Saturday July 5th if the weather is OK. Its presently N @ 5 on weather network. Winds are usually stronger than forecast so as of now I'm on stand-by.

UPDATE...Forecast has gone south so it will have to be another time....

Re: Collingwood sloping soon

JB, would you try the climb from the resort again? Or the trail hike from above?

I wonder how muddy it is up there

Good luck!

Re: Collingwood sloping soon

WooHoo, I did it. (Just got back from a wedding in Ottawa). I decided to take the tent trailer and camp at Craigleith PP last Monday and Tuesday. Conditions were good when we arrived. Huried to set up and then sped off to the hill. I hiked from the bottom again with the intention of a quick flight-yeah right! I was meeting a friend as well so I didnt go around the back way.Flew the Alula first as conditioned mellowed for a bit . What a wonderful little wing! So nice to have so much sky to fly in. I also experimented flying from a lower stand point which worked quite well. The afternoon wind came so the Moth came out, not quite full ballast but flying was excellent. Flew for close to 2 hours on the one flight!! In the meantime friends showed up so I tossed over the TX and launched the Alula on the other TX. What an experience. Next day was calm so we did the Bruce caves, Inglis and Indian Falls. Found a spot to fly the Alula just North of Owen Sound, not very good but a nice break on our little tuor.Hmm, North winds forecast for tonight!!??

What a beautful day! Nice view from up there isn't it?

I have my Lula as well. We got to do this in the future together.

Re: Collingwood sloping soon

If we go from the Bay it will be on Sunday. WN shows North @30kmh which I would consider low reliabiltiy on their forecasts, Environment Canada Marine forecast shows NE 15 knots starting in the morning. Kitesurk is showing N at 16 mph. Can only keep an eye on the forecast from here on in.

Re: Collingwood sloping soon

Well we are planning on leaving the Bay Sunday morning @6am and hope to arrive at the trail on the backside well before noon. Forecast is still reasonable but I will check it once again in the morning before we leave.
