Just curious, I wish to upgrade from my Clearview flight sim. I am a heli pilot only so far. I could get a used real flight g 3.5 relatively cheap but is it real outdated? How does it compare to the newer realflight versions. My laptop is not equipped with any special graphics card other than the built in microsoft x86 chip.. Also I am looking at Phoenix as well. Any input would be appreceated. The best heli sim is probably the one I want.

realflight (any version) requires some power in the computer and your laptop card might not be up to the task. Phoenix is not as big a resource hog.

download the phoenix demo from their website and run it. it is a non-interactive demo, but will show you whether your notebook can handle it or not.

Personally I prefer Phoenix especially for helis (I've own both realflight and Phoenix) and all phoenix updates and planes/helis are free downloads from their site.

Thanks for yhe info, I was hoping you would say Phoenix was the best choice. I have downloaded the demo & the heli demo video is great.
