Well getting there slow but sure; to get the water rudder lifts as it was one of my 8-10 hours thinking to 1 hour work/fabrication ; ratio. Hope to have the water rudder cabling
finished today and post pictures. Servo is mounted in the fuse and pulleys done and mounted. tried to keep it as simple as I could and still look good plus make it easy to remove all cabling when converting back to wheels.

DONE , finally. Through that tunnel and into full daylight. Here are the last of the float pictures with water rudder installation. First picture is the water rudder in up position. Second is pulley and cable into the fuse and the third picture is inside the fuse with connection to the servo. Used fishing leader type snap hooks to hook up or unhook when removing floats . Will see how that concept works for now but can change if I find a better way. Had to bump up the servo travel to get enough throw but can go with longer longer servo arms in the future.

Next job is to check the C of G with the wheels on and then do the C of G with floats. Any required weight
to be added for the floats will be added in the tips that way minimizing the total weight needed.

Well it flew and flew well this last weekend at the Shuswap Fall Float Classic at Salmon Arm. More than enough power with the Wren 44 turbo. Averaged a half tank (20-25 oz) for a 7 min flight . On the maiden flight almost all pilots and spectators stood up to get that better look. The two comments that came out after the maiden was " man, that is one quiet motor !" And I love the smell of kerosene !...... I have to thank Steve Bondar from Calgary who was invited to do the maiden and did a great job. The Jeti radio auto-trim function worked well with just a couple of manual clicks to fine tune. After I took my turn ( when my knees stoped knocking ,lol) decided that I will be doing some flap - elevator mixing as she did climb when flaps deployed. Hope to post pictures once I get them sorted as haven't had time to look at them yet.

There was some question as to whether a sub fin or winglets on the h-stab might be required but according to Steve , after the first flight , they will not be needed other than for scale effect as she flew just fine without. Other suggestions are dual rates for the rudder with high rate for improved taxi purposes.

That's just awesome!! I'm so glad you finished of my hanger queen it would still be sitting unfinished. It looks amazing and happy it flew well.

Some video was taken and other still pics by other club members. We had about 8 members from our club at the float fly and they will have flying pics as well so have to get these all gathered up and see what we have. It was the closest to scale as you can get ! Did do one pass and a full vertical climb to about a 800 feet plus and then leveled off. Would have liked to have had more slow flight flying to see just how slow but saved that for next time. Rudder needs a high rate for taxing as the water rudders need more help. But hey, that's in the fine tuning. Having a little trouble trying to get the flap servos matched for speed so was wondering if they may have been reprogrammed in the past ; each a bit differently ?
IN any case very happy with it.

I'm sure the flaps are Hitec servos but I would have only just put them in, no programing would have been done.
