i cant seem to get my idle to set without the truck moving on its own, it revs too high and will start to move, either way I turn the screw the idle keeps increasing

any suggestions on what might fix this problem?

hey

Did you check your throttle setting on you radio?....that sounds like wat's going on...if you set it toward one way, it will go on its own, or the other way, it wont go, but its good if you set it that there is a little gas flow so it revs but doesn't go on its own, the higher u set it, it will start faster, but then you can set it lower when you strat driving.

I had that problem with my 2.5r.. I found that I had the settings way out of wack.

Here is a link that might help you set the carb up.

Does it start to move as soon as you start it? If so you might want to have a look at the clutch. The stock shoes are a weak point with that truack and you may want to have a look at them instead of the carb

ok try this turn on your cantroller and reciever take of your throttle servo horn and pusy your carb cloed then put back on the horn so that way the carb stays closed in the neutral position and then adjust you throttle trim from your remote
oh and also make sure the throttle trim is all the way closed before you do this

so try this and let me know how it goes it worked with my savage so it could be whats wrong with your maxx

there are other holes in the TRX carb that are blocked with allen screws .Some times they rattle lose causing an air leak which would cause the engine to run lean (high rpm). Also check the carb boot ,fuel lines ,fuel filter, and gas tank for air leaks.
Some times you can get air leaks from the back plate ,the glow plug ,and the front bearing .To check these areas...start the engine and give a blast of WD40 in those areas. If the engine stalls ,you've found your air leak.

Good luck
