Nate (and anyone else interested)
Fire ban website: https://albertafirebans.ca/

Right now we have a Fire Restriction for Edmonton and the surrounding counties (Parkland, Leduc, Sturgeon.) NOT a ban. It means no permits are being issued for open fires e.g. when farmers or job sites get a permit to burn up piles of debris. Burn barrels, fire pits, fireworks are all still okay under a fire Restriction.

There are a few areas under ban like Drayton Valley and Wetaskiwin.

No ban right now near Bremner therefore Jets should be fine.

I wouldn't fly during a ban regardless of club rules since I don't want to held personally liable for causing a fire. I doubt my liability insurance would cover that!

Sorry for hijacking the thread Bob...

Re: Bremnar Jet and Warbird Rally

no problem , went to Tofield , \

It would be great if the Jet committee could advise on this issue , It has been a bone of contention on my part as well theirs . the last I heard was it was going to be left up to the jet group at each club . I hope that direction will be taken , I have heard nothing .

Cheers Nate / Safety is a large part of liability at our age!!!!

Re: Bremnar Jet and Warbird Rally

Okay Gentlemen I would appreciate if this would be the end of Fire Bans on this thread.

Nate: As I have told you in the past the jet committee did discuss this topic and was in agreement to leave the matter up to each individual club and jet flyer to decide if the fire risk at each local site is severe enough to suspend flying. When it is all said and done it is up to the common sense of each individual flyer to decide if the local conditions meet his abilities and requirements to have a safe and enjoyable flight.
If you feel this topic still requires discussion please start a separate thread.

Moving forward I am looking forward to this fun fly in July as I have had a lot of good interest from both the war bird flyers and the jet flyers. I am expecting a good turn out for our inaugural event.

Re: Bremnar Jet and Warbird Rally

The Bremner Jet and War Bird Rally is just about one month from now. Hopefully everyone who had planned to attend Cayley, have changed their plans to join us in Edmonton at Bremner field.
A barbecue is being planned for Saturday evening July 25. the cost will be $10/ person in addition to the $15 landing fee payable at registration. To make the cost reasonable, it will not be a steak barbecue. In order to make sure we have adequate food, it would be good to have a preliminary head count for the number of people who are planing on attending the Saturday function by letting us know on this form.

Hi Bruce
Two for Jean and myself. Anything else to bring to help out with the BBQ?

Re: Bremnar Jet and Warbird Rally

Only Two weeks to go for our inaugural event. Long range forecast looks good.......sunny skies with temps in the mid 20's. Still looking for a tentative head count for the barbeque.

Thanks for checking in. Over
