CF18 Hornet Tiger Scheme

Gentlemen

In cooperation with Airpac models we are building the new Skymaster F18 Hornet with twin PST J600s. We have decided on the new 2003 Tiger squadron scheme. I have been looking for some documentation on the aircraft and have found a couple of magazine articles but need more views. Would any of you have more information on the aircraft or a link I could go to?

Season's Greetings

Thats exactly the colour scheme I would like to do on my AV8R. I know its only a trainer jet but I think it would look awsome.

If anyone is interested, a friend of mine has a digital photo quality vinyl printer that would do the pictures for the fins in 2 mil vinyl. He said he would do the tiger heads for me for about $10 for the pair the right size for the fins.

2 mil vinyl is light, strong and perfect for printing photo quality high resolution pictures. And is super easy to install.

If anyone has a close up of the tiger heads and any other graphics and lettering used on this model, I would appreciate a copy that I could give him to have printed.

Thanks in advance!

I am most definitely interested! I assume that resizing would be easy enough to do? The F18 kit is enroute but I do not know yet the dimensions of the fins.

Hey Marty! I won't have mine ready for Florida Jets but certainly look forward to seeing your new F18 in action!

Dean,
I am an ex armoured LOH observer from 408 sqn. You might be able to get more information if you go directly to the source. They like this kind of publicity. The web site to search is http://www.airforce.forces.ca/index_e.htm
They are 4 wing and there is also contact information located when searching. They have painted some beautiful colour schemes over the years. The first tiger scheme I remember was in Lahr Germany in 69 of a F104. I remember it from being an observer on a CH112 Nomad in the next hanger.
For the rest of you guys reading also check out the aircraft section mainly the past. I bet not to many people knew that we had 6 B17's in the 40's. It also has the aircraft I crewed when new #276 Kiowa in the album.
Hope this helps on your search.
John
PS: I have been in 3 armoured regts. and also spent 3 yrs. with 408 Sqn.

Thank you so much for the information. I have visited the site and have sent an enquiry as to the project. We will be documenting the building process for Airpac so if anyone is interested in the twin drop us a line!

Ronm,
Thats the one. You can see the revetment in the 2 down right hand side.
Brings back a lot of memories. I can't remember the top speed that was released but I knew a Maj. that cracked to us one day that the US held the speed record and they could break it at 3/4's thrust. That puppy carried no guns, just a bomb and its defence mode was to outrun everything. Nice picks.
