Airtronics RDS 8000
This radio looks interesting, but am I to understand that the 5-8 ch are all just on/off switches.. I'm just thinking if you had flaps, they would have to be up or down (even a 3 position switch isn't that great)... And from pictures I see, I don't see any sliders..
At $229.00 I was kind of interested, but not if I can't have proportion on an extra ch...

Airtronics RDS8000 2.4
Picking up one next weekend at Toledo, can let you know more on how it set up after than. I presently have to Stylus systems, and most of the switches are for mix's however I do not that the RDS system does have a switch for both retracts and flaps.
If you go to the web page, the manual for the RD8000 is there, and this new system is the same except for being 2.4. Peter |

Flew an RD8000 for about 5 years and I can tell you that they have a 3 position flap switch. Landing gear, Aux 1 and Aux 2 are on/off switches which didn't really matter to me as the additional channels are normally used for mixing multiple servos into primary channels anyway. The only things it really lacked in my opinion where triple rates on ail and ele (only has 1 rate for rudder) and flight modes. Went to a 9303 to get those. I really liked the intuitive programming and the throttle cut button was a also nice feature. Unless you need/want flight modes and triple rates you should enjoy the RD8000.
