Has any beginners flown this plane and how well does it go together?? I am thinking of getting this as a trainer, as I want to get into warbirds after I learn to fly.

Thanks for all your input in advanced from a beginner.

How's things in Houston, I use to live there about 20 years ago when the moose were still walking through town. Wasn't sure if there was more moose or people.
I went from a trainer to a top flight p-47
I've seen two guys at our club flying this mustang and they seem pretty tame, go for it you won't know till you try

PTS H9 Mustang is good second or third low wing trainer, it comes with slats on both wing tips which could be detached after getting use to the plane after some flights....

Its nice model and flys nice and crisp......one guy at my club fly it now and then and its great flying plane.

Regards,
Sammy

We had a student get his wings in less then a month with this aircraft. course he spent all winter on a Sim and had flown some ParkFly airplanes.

With the slats, airbrakes and the 3 bladed prop it keeps the speed down. Be advised though even with all that stuff off it probably flys closer to trainer like then warbird. I don't think you could go directly from this into a .60 size 8lbs warbird without some problems. JMHO!

Just talking to a fellow flyer tonight. He was flying his P-51 PTS and he loves it. Funny thing is no one would train him on it they made him get a high wing trainer. He claims it flys just like a trainer with all the accessories on. Tonight he was flying it without all the accessories and it didn't look like it was flying like a trainer. Personaly I hate trainers got my wings and sold mine. Talking to this guy tonight made me wish I had bought a P-51 PTS. Or anything that wasn't a flat bottom trainer. Thats my opinion so keep asking around and form your own.

Welcome to flying

I think this is a good first aircraft for almost anyone. It fly's so tame, it's incredible. Get one if it's what you want, you won't be disappointed.

If you fly with the club out at the airport, tell them I said hi!!

I was talking to Ray Simms last night at work about it and he said they are open to let me try it if I want. The way I am looking at it is I will crash it with out a doubt, but if you buy the radio by it self you are looking at $250, the flight sim program is say $100. Thats $350 , so the planes only costing me $100, not to bad for a trainer. I can get replacement parts. I still have not made up my mind though, doing more research first.

I was mowing the field Tuesday, and later two of these came to fly. One was a .46 powered with a three blade prop, good second plane, the other had a .60 and flew like a scared cat.

Good looking planes.

(does every club have two?)
