I still have mixed gas left over from last year - what do you usually do with it?

Re: Last year's gas

Goes in my Homelite weed wacker, though I'm sure it's probably fine to use.

Re: Last year's gas

Why not dump it in your car, and get some fresh stuff for this summer?

As long as it isn't 25 gallons.

Take care, Daren

Re: Last year's gas

I would just blend in small amounts with a freshly mixed batch....say a 1/2 gallon of the old stuff with a couple gallons of fresh mix. If you stored the mixed gas in a proper container out of direct sunlight there is nothing wrong with it after that short of a period.

Re: Last year's gas

Very good question John.
I was under the understanding that 2 strock mix has a fuel stabilizer additive . Now this is years ago, with dino oil. Therefore I ussually added some 2 stroke mix to the different 4 strock's around the acreage when out of season. Quads, boat. Lawn tractor, etc. I never had any carb issues.
Richard, that is about what happens around here. Arlene is never out of grass whip mix.
Hope this helps.

Re: Last year's gas

John, you really got me thinking now.
Another good use for it, if it applies. Consume it all up as a break-in fuel. Always nice to aquire another gasser each year. I'm of the beleif, that you can not run to much fuel through a new engine before it's first flight.

Re: Last year's gas

I usualy only have four liters at a time mixed one day of flying lol. Dale keeps it fresh with all the flying we do. But if its actualy been a couple months its only 4$ so I get rid of it and get fresh stuff.
