Laser Cutter

Alright lets try this again.. Turns out I'm not allowed to offer my laser cutter at cost, its a commercial business and not allowed on here.

Oh well.. So instead I will ask for suggestions of things/plans I can cut with it. Does anyone know of a really cool plan or item I could make..

I have made a couple of Flitetest planes. They turned out well, much easier than cutting with a knife (and cleaner).

If anyone has any questions about the cutter, let me know.. Its kind of a mysterious device and I would like to help de-mystify it. I'm still learning myself, but its an amazing device..

Re: Laser Cutter

The obvious kit for today: dehavilland twin otter 8 foot wing span ,intended electric, standard construction, with posible mounting of landing gear,or floats.
Nobody is doing it,and a lot of demand for it.

Re: Laser Cutter

What kind of data do you require to cut parts?
Can a PDF drawing be used to guide the laser or is a DFX the only way .

The last parts I had cut offered as a separate cut file Mastercut .dfx

Re: Laser Cutter

I have never seen any cutter using pdf. That doesnt mean that a new cutter would not include that format, and convert it prior to cutting.

Re: Laser Cutter

I have since sold the cutter..

Yes I could accept PDF. Its just a matter of having the right software to convert it to a cuttable format.

If it where me I would get a top name set of plans to cut Like the Jerry Bates 1/5 Hawker Sea Fury that would be awesome and actually a plane that I would love to build . Just a few shots of my last build
and one of that sea fury from Jerry bates plans

Re: Laser Cutter

You might be better off with a CnC,as the fumes from foam basically stick to the lazer lens, and it has to have a very strong fan to remove the plastic fumes fronm getting near the lens.
