Well guys, dont tell the wife to be, but I was offered a slightly used Moore's Super 66 for a price TOO good to turn down...

I figure I work hard, and damn it, I am going to buy myself that engine. Now, just DONT say anything about it OK???

Now if the future father-in-law wants to buy it for me, I wont mind that either

What do you say Frank??

Well, lets see if I can swing a DV8R.... (Frank, are you listening?? )

Seriously, I want to try my Super Reaper with a larger engine, and my home built KJ66 isnt 100% ready to fly yet (and I want to put that engine into my yet to be built Ziroli F9F Panther when I get to it..) and the Moores will be a good match for the Reaper I think.

Nony certainly likes his with the larger turbine, right Nony??

I wouldn't fly it with less power, that's for sure!! Mind you, we did add a few pounds of reinforcing I think it was 21lbs dry.....

Yup Andrew, Nony and I think that belts and suspenders are necessary, well in building the first jet anyway, we thought we would need the weight up forward, plus rough short fields, so why not put it into structure. Certainly it does't seem overpowered on the short fields, it DOES get up and go on takeoff.

I like your idea for the panther, I ordered plans and they should have been here a few weeks ago. I don't know if I will build right now but wanted to have a look at them for a possible (now anyway as they are weeks late arriving) next winter project).

I think most of my problem with the Reaper was having to locate my gear at basically the balance point and have the nose sitting quite high up, just to get off the runway with the 12 pound thrust engine.

With brute power to get up to flying speed and up - I think if the gear were moved back wards and the nose set back to level, and a bit more fore CG, it would not have such a drastic tendancy to bounce up the nose on landings.

Only time will tell!

This plane is going to be a lot different with so much power available....

I received my Moores' Super 66 today... sweet! I now better get my Super Reaper back in flying condition...

The guy that was supposed to be fixing it for me decided to quit the hobby so its back in my hands. Good thing its such a simple plane, a few weekends work and it will be good as new!

Now to find some turbine oil..... I dont want to experiment on this one by using the same outboard motor oil I use in my Wren MW 54... allthough I do have a few hours on my KJ66 with the same oil and no worse for wear.

But I will follow the manufacturer's recomendations

congrats. Let us know how the Moore works out. It would be good to support Canadian manufacturing.

Lots of turbine oil by Pearson's airport.
