Does anyone have any experience with this brand of lipos?

I'm interested in the 3 cell x 2200mah.

I've been using the 11.1v 2200mah for a few months now and they work as good as Great Planes Electrifly and cost much less, I would not hesitate to buy another one or two.

If your buying it from True Northern Hobbies, the prices are great and the service is superb!!! Keep up the Great Job Daniel.

I've been using the 3S1P 2200's in both my Trex and in parallel on my Corona.

Over 130+ cycles on each pack and still kickin'.

Very good for the price.

I usually get mine from Jun at www.xushobby.com . Good shipping/service.

Hey,

Thanks for the info.......130 cycles.........good.

Do you balance the cells and all that stuff...or just plug, fly and charge?

Just for those that are interested (and this is the reason I became a dealer for the Electric Power batteries in the first place) i've never used balancers previously on my packs in the past. I've got 2 2200 mAh EP packs here (2 cell) and 1 2200 3 cell. I've used them (and severely abused them) for well over 2 years now in both planes and helicopters.

When I finally decided to get a balancer for my self recently (which i'm very impressed with by the way, i'll be carrying them on the site soon). I was almost positive the packs would be horribly out of balance. To my amazement, the cells all tracked within 2 mV! This is with having NEVER been balanced, ever.

For the price, the EP batteries are just hard to beat in terms of construction quality and performance.

The only problem i've ever noticed is that they're definitely heavier than some other lipo brands out there because of the thick covering and padded ends, but, of course, that also translates into a more durable pack, so you win in one area and lose in another. Just depends on whether the trade off is worth it to you.

Anyways Bob, to answer your question, definitely use a balancer. You don't need to use it for every single charge, but every few charges it's a good idea, just to keep the packs in top shape.

The one's I use in my Trex's, I don't balance because they just haven't gone out of balance enough to affect the chemistry. When I first bought them, I was using the TP balancer in between the charger/lipo while charging and noticed that it wasn't doing much at all so I just stopped using it after approx a dozen or so cycles (it's been awhile.. can't remember the exact amount).

The one's I use as 3S2P 4400 in parallel in my Corona, I do balance those one's just because of the parallel discharge while flying.

If you have a balancer, I would recommend to balance them or at least check on them for the first 10 or so cycles and then decide whether or not you really need to balance them.

On a side note, I never run past 1700mah just under 80% capacity. I believe that is extending the life of the lipo and balancing rate.

Hope this helps. They are good lipo's. I like them and continue to use them in my planes as well.

Daniel,

Thanks for the info.....I'll take your advise about the balancing.

I'll check your site from time to time regarding the balancer.

Electric Power Lipo Batteries

Jesse,

Thanks to you also for the insight into these batteries.

I've got one 3S1P 2200mah on the way from True Northern Hobbies.

If I find anything different than what has already been reported, I'll post.

Regards,

Bob

Hi Bob,

By all means, please do report your findings.

In total I have the following EP lipo's:

4x 2200 3S1P 8c's
2x 4400 3S2P 12c's
1x 4400 4S1P 10c's

All have turned out to be dependable lipo's.

As said previously, a little heavier than the TP's, however they do the job.
