Does anyone know of some good hobby stores to check out in the Calgary area? I need a helicopter governor and some servos. I made a special trip to the two big one's in Edmonton and walked away very very disappointed without any of my items.

Thanks

Re: Calgary Hobby Stores

Hi,
There is three rc aircraft hobby stores in Calgary , PM hobbies is up on 32 ave. north I think it is 2020 in the strip mall on the north side of the ave. Then there's action hobby out in ogden in the south east...and then there's modelland in the south west off of 37th street then to 26th ave and back east aways not sure of the exact adress. Each of them have their plusses and minuses and bear in mind at modelland gst is included in the price.. he has a ton of inventory also. Both modelland and pm carry heli stuff , modelland has been in them allot longer. Hope this helps...Brad

Re: Calgary Hobby Stores

PM Hobbycraft is the Big one. Its on 32ave NE. www.pmhobbycraft.ca

Action Hobby in Odgen is a smaller but still a good store (www.actionhobby.ca)
ModelLand off of 26th ave SW (www.modelland.com)

For Heli gear your best bets are PM and ML.

Hope that helps.

Re: Calgary Hobby Stores

If you call PM - ask for Steve in airplanes, he's probably the best to talk to about heli gear.

ModelLand - ask for Garrett (the owner) he knows the most about helis there, and if Garrett isn't around, Ray is your next best bet.

Re: Calgary Hobby Stores

Your best bet for Heli parts and accessories would be Modelland in the south east. Talk to Garret as he flies only heli's mainly and has been doing it for years. Besides stocking a lot of inventory he is also the Miniature Aircraft rep and probably several others. The others stock parts but not like he does.
I took my Xcell up to him to check over and was missing a small clip and he had it in a box. His problem is room as he is using all the space he can find including the basement. If anybody has it it will be him. That is my opinion anyway.

Re: Calgary Hobby Stores

Well I made a visit to PM HobbyCraft today. The first thing I noticed was the great store display and selection. I walked away a very happy customer with new helicopter governor in hand.

I still might try to take in some of the other shops during my visit.

thanks
