DX6I broken throttle trim switch

Well my warranty is up and my throttle trim switch just broke. The switch it self has failed and will not give me down trim, It feels like a spring broke or something inside. What is the best solution to have it fixed. since this is my only radio I don't really want to send it halfway around the world to get fixed. This might be the perfect time to look into a new transmitter. any suggestions would be great. thanks

Re: DX6I broken throttle trim switch

I don't have one myself but see lots of posts about that one. That seems to be a weak area. Guys have used plastic melt or such to glue the trim lever back together.

Thumbs up Re: DX6I broken throttle trim switch

After posting that, I dug a little deeper and found out that this is a common occurrence with the DX6I. It seems that the service department at HH got allot of flack on this one. It took the radio apart and fixed the switch with some plastic weld. easy fix. You just need to add a little triangle piece on the tab to strengthen it. Well I guess it's better to have the plastic switch fail instead of doing damage to the circuit board. all's well.

Re: DX6I broken throttle trim switch

Hi Guys,

I don't know if this will help anyone, but we have recently released aluminum trim tabs and an aluminum menu wheel for the DX6i.

Re: DX6I broken throttle trim switch

Hi Bugerdup,

I'm not sure of your location in Ontario, but if you are close to Kitchener, the FlightCraft Hobby shop on Victoria St. is an authorized JR center - you may want to give them a call if it breaks again.

Hope this helps.

Fly4Fun,

Wayne

Re: DX6I broken throttle trim switch

Hey all, just found this post, I had that problem on two of my DX6i's within in a week, I ordered the trim tabs and rollers from East RC (they were super fast with shipping) for both of my dx6i's.
Check out the 'how to' video I posted, hope this helps you or someone else.
