I have been running my buggy and truggy without any mods, and no servo failures yet (knock on wood). I have a brand new king headz servo tray brace that is collecting dust. There are some mods that people do, but I have not needed them. My 2 cents.

I had my first servo failure last weekend in my buggy, but it was a 2 year old hitec 625. I went through 2 of the same servo in my X ray last year. To be honest ive sat and stared at my buggy and caint see how the car could destroy the servo. The only mod i do is slot the hole in the battery box and use a longer bolt and nut and allow it to slide back and forth alittle.

Hardware

Burnt servos could be caused from a lot of different problems, but not usually linked to chassis flex.

I feel some of the problems can be linked back to the linkage hardware itself..........................

The negative throttle spring (The one that compresses when brakes are applied) has a very high compression rate...That alone will not burn out a servo..... but add that to;

The brakes on the 8 are either On - or - OFF. There is very little travel between the two as the force is not progressive enough, which will make the servo apply much of its force over a very small degree of rotation + - 1 degree).

Remedies can be
1/ use a softer negative throttle spring and;
2/ use softer fuel tubing to spread out the brake application rate and to make sure the EPA is on the light side for braking.

My 5 cents (inflation)
