Unionville Norseman Build (2)

Thought I would start a thread on a Norseman build, since there doesn't seem to be one.... No just kidding, but I am building this 50"WS elec one.. I shrank a set of Union ones and here's where we are at... Will use a Turnigy 35-30 1100kv and 2200-2800ma 3s lipo's.. Will put it on 60cm foam floats, that's why it's here in the floatplane forum....

Re: Unionville Norseman Build (2)

I was just thinking to myself yesterday that a Unionville Norseman would be a great electric build. How much are you shrinking it down by?
I want to do the full size kit for mine....in QCA detail

Re: Unionville Norseman Build (2)

I shrank the plans to 58-60% of the original..One problem is the wing is going to be one piece, so I have to modify that area a bit.. I'm just going to putter away at it over the next few months.. Sept is a write-off, too many Floatflys to go to on the weekends...

Re: Unionville Norseman Build (2)

I look forward to watching your progression. I just started out with electrics in bigger planes this year and just completed 3 gas-elec conversion this summer with great success. My Unionville Moth is my favorite so far and I want to do a Norseman with the same power plant, so was looking at the Unionville Norseman 60" Kit, but it seems not so scale as the big kit is. Your concept seems the right way to go. I will be watching with interest.
I guess you will be at Lake Cowichan in a few weeks eh?

Re: Unionville Norseman Build (2)

Hey Darren,

Looking forward to following the build as well. That other guy is just way too "chatty" for me!

I'd sure like to see a build about the foam floats too.

I like the lightening work you've done, particularly in the tail area.

Trevor
