AV8R Setup

I was given an AV8R from Andrew Coholic last year at the Wingham jet rally (thanks again Andrew), finally getting around to setting it up with a behotec j66. But I can't find any information on balance and control throws for this thing, anyone else have this model or know where I can find out? Also It seems like the single clamp mount for the j66 is discontinued, It was suggested to me to use stainless steel hose clamps, good idea? Any help is appreciated

Thanks Bobby

Re: AV8R Setup

I'm only bringing the Starfire. Damaged a wing on the Turbinator a couple of weeks ago. Not repaired yet. See you there. Eric

Bobby,
You cannot use a "66" size turbine on the AV8R... it was (as I mentioned) designed only to use a "54" size turbine (at the time, a Wren MW54, Ram500, etc) - basically any modern small case turbine will work (P60, P70 I think) or the Wren's, etc.

A 66 class engine is physically too large, and more importantly, too heavy to balance properly.
