Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread
Ok, these pics are not of the classic hand launch off a flat field searchin for a thermal pics, But these are the only ones of my mini topsky dlg glider that I have. I flew it everywhere I could. Small and light weight it's a good way to check out hand launch before investing in a full size glider.

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread
I have 3 dlgs - a QFII and a DL50 both from Mountain Models; and a homemade Lightspeed I got secondhand. The DL50 is a very easy & quick build. It is a blast to fly and an excellent & very cheap ($87) intro to discus launch. Here's a link to it: http://www.mountainmodels.com/produc...roducts_id=212
The homemade Lightspeed is a full house dlg and will fly circles around the 2 channel DL50. Pun intended! Ann |

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread
Jed great to see you post to this little thread. The gliders you create are of fantastic quality and made in . I am looking forward to purchasing a kit from you in the near future. In the nearer future I will more than likely need replacement parts . We will see how long my new glider holds up to my launch/adjustment learning curve. Wonderfull work and thanks for sharing.

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread
Annte, Love the two 50 inch R/E gliders one a foam core wing and the other a light balsa wing(i would think both are a better choice than my mini). Great price too. The lightspeed is a very nice dlg form the guys in New Mexico to find one second hand is very lucky. Got a pic

I don't imagine you will have much problem launching the 1.5 m after flying the mini topsky. A common habit of new launchers however is hooking the glider which can be avoided by keeping a straight arm upon release. You will notice a huge upgrade in performance with the 1.5 . Just keep them tips out of the rhubarb. |

Re: DLG/HLG Gliders Thread
I've seen Jed's work and his planes are awesome!!
I just finished fixing the fin on the Lightspeed (don't ask). I will try and get photos of my flock (murder? Gaggle?) of dlgs posted. Cheers Ann |
