I know this is kind of early but I've marked it on my calander

At the Upper Canada Zone Funfly Brian Wattie (Cdn IMAA Director) anounced that the IMAA board of directors has approved the 2008 IMAA Rally of Giants to be held at the Arnprior Airport June 26-29 2008. This is the first time ever in Canada. Brian had also mentioned that the had support from the Mayor of Arnprior,Town Council and also the support of the Arnprior Airport authority. Some of you may remember Scale 80 the 1980 World Scale Championships was held at Arnprior Airport.

Rally of Giants

http://www.fly-imaa.org/imaa/ralley.html

So who is going?

Know any good places to stay near the event?

Our tentative plan is Logan & myself are flying to Ottawa on the 26th spend the weekend at the Rally of Giants. Then spend a couple of days in Ottawa and enjoy Canada Day.

Need to be creative with a 1/4 scale plane as shipping from NL to Ottawa is a challenge. Not to mention trying to ensure it arrives safely.

David - do you have anymore info or details?

Carl

Hi Guys

I'll talk to Brian Wattie ( man in charge) and get more info if there are any deals on hotels or camping.

Hi Dave ; Can you ask Brian if the RV parking is onsite at the Arnprior airport ?

I'm just wondering if it is within model towing distance of the flight line.

Thanks.

Mike.

Hey Guys, I know there will be a few questions starting to come in about the Rally, You can view the Club site aerial photo from the club's web site that should give you a pretty good idea of the possible camping and RV parking area and size.
Keep in mind that it is going to be a few kilometers away from the actual airport accross town where the 4 day event will be taking place.
You'll need to transport from and to the event probably.

Go to "www.arccclub.com" for pictures.

Thanks
Jesse
