Quebec Re: A-500

Hello,
I know its been nearly 2 months since my last post on the 500.
I've been busy, building, waiting, waiting, cursing, posting, building,
well, you know how it is......
Went very slowly, cause I really couldn't go fast, had a bit of experience with Align products but this is nothing like Align. So everything was new to me.
Looking at a vid and it (heli) being in front of me, staring me in the face are 2 different things. Like the bell-hiller arm needed a 5 degree angle, had to play with the links, took me a while to get it, (its a mirror image thing, troubling) I mean how to do it. A c-clip was missing from the kit, had to wait, did other stuff, servos at 90, installed the main-shaft a couple of times, forgot to install the collar, it goes underneath the main bearing. Received the c-clip, didn't know how to install it (da! ), had to press both the cover and the motor together to see the groove that the clip went into. Needed shims to put between the spindle and the head, waited a bit for that. + many stupid things I did during the build, I'm sure I'm the only one who does those things.
Now its nearly pretty much done, waiting for servo extentions, gonna snake the wires inside the frame so you can,t see'm, maybe dress the wires up.
I also got a brand new Futaba 7C Fasst, with a tiny receiver, I'm gonna install it in the belly of the heli (reason for extentions) and lastly fiddling on a JR 770 gyro, setting D/R, EPA, EXPO, loads of fun.
Lovely learning curve and its not finished...........
But all the while, great support and patience from Jeff at RcHeliCanada and the guys on the Compass forum on H.F.
Here are some pics, remember, those dangling wires need extentions.
