Re: Needs help & advice

hi, I went through what you're experiencing. I just passed on my parts unfortunately. Since then I upgraded at Bonzisports.com.

There's a better built swap in clutch they build, or you can do what I did. Got the V2 Performance clutch, it moves the motor back. Got their proboat rail/ mount adaptors, bought a 5 inch rail mount set, and ordered a Bonzi Proboat upgraded flexshaft. Later I took an Aeromarine hydro strut, slipped it between the current strut brackets and got a 1/4 inch propshaft and a1/4 inch ferrule equipped flexshaft. The throttle is also now direct linked one with a 4-40 push-rod which I could do since the gastank is now a bag at the bow. With the bonzi clutch, the 5 inch mounts, the 1/4 inch propshaft I can turn any prop and use up to 10HP. I also have the rudder upgrades come to mention it. The centre of gravity improved and luckily the stuffing tube can remain in place.

Re: Needs help & advice

Thanks Marks, when putting other factory clutch set, is it needs to do a lot modification like moving the engine because the length may not the same. I saw some clutch set comes to engine mount with pre drill holes, maybe for offset engine. would you mind send me pics so I have an idea to do it. Thanks

This is/was the direct swap clutch upgrade and seems discontinued. But I would call and ask if they have or can make one.

This is a sweet deal. I would ask for a 1/4 inch ferrule and buy their 1/4 inch propshaft. and eventually get a 1/4 strut thats a similar length as the Proboat's strut.

Re: Needs help & advice

this part wasn't as tough as the other end but the key is to use something under the engine to prop it up until you have the right height and angle etc

Re: Needs help & advice

Thanks Mark for the pics & instructions. Today I went to Markham Lawnmower and found some springs similar to the original one. Modify and put back into the boat. Will test tomorrow. Hopefully it works. Thanks Paul for the tips.

Re: Needs help & advice

Hi all. today start the engine, clutch springs works fine. If the springs is harder will be perfect. On the whole I am satisfied. So problem is solved. Thanks everybody.
