Guys, please understand, this is just my opinion, for around $200 to $400 more, there are turbines in the 30lb thrust range, when you're talking $2350US, for another 10% or so, I'd rather get the bigger engine.
Jetcat is the Chevy of turbines, they don't make as much thrust as others, but they are reliable. They'll go forever, I have nothing against them, and their service and support is great. I just don't see the logic in the P80, it's just my personal opinion though and everyone is free to make their own decisions.

Re: I-JETS Black Mamba Test Vid!!!!!!!

the p70 already is unless you gotta have one they may make it for you the p80 i believe is the same size as my 120se ??? i believe any of the new 100s are abt 100 or so dollars more and lighter so why would anyone spend a smidge less for more weight and less thrust, just my opinion i own a wren, jetcat and pst and wren service is up there too, have no experience with pst yet but kelly is a great source of knowledge that we have in our back yard...

I need to know where you fellows are shopping, I don't see any of the discussed turbines for a $100 or so dollars more?

Jet Central Cheetah is $3K, Jets Munt Merlin 140 is $2850 (pre-orders only), No price for Wren 100 but, Super Sport is $2795 so, would expect new 100 to be more.

These engines are $500 to $700 more than a P-80se, not a $100 or so more.

BlackMamba for 2595$ 30lbs (was 5 years now Lifetime warranty)
ATJ 120TI for 2295$ 28lbs (2 years warranty)
Merlin for 2800$ (from the manual``the warranty period for the Merlin 160G is 1 year from the date of purchase, or 25 running hours, whichever comes first.)
JetCentral Cheetah 2995$ - 150$ store credit or 100$ cash rebate or even a free flameout value of 185$ from some vendors... (Lifetime warranty)

Alex, the first two on your list are Asian turbines, ATJ I believe is Chinese, hardly an apples to apples comparison to Jetcat. The other's are as I stated, far more expensive than a P-80se. Discounts are available on Jetcat's through their dealers as well.

My point is, there is no other quality turbine(read European) at the $2300 price range that puts out 22lbs of thrust.

It is a very reliable engine, but with so many options out there for better power, less weight, same or better price and from reputable manufactures, I can't understand why anyone would buy a P80 anymore, SE or otherwise.
Maybe this explain their lower price..

The closest in price range would be a Behotec J66 with 50hrs before service with 2 years warranty..

Thats what is listed on the site but on the turbine comparison chart I have (real test data) it shows it putting out 19.1lbs unless there is a newer version ... the one tested was a j66-hp.
