Hey everyone, I have not been in this hobby long, but I am having a blast!. I would like everyone to post their best experience in this hobby. It don't matter if you have been in this hobby for one day or one thousand. Post your accomplishments, people you met, planes/helis you own or anything that makes you proud to say you fly RC .

Re: The best part of RC

Wow! Where to start! It's such a great & diverse hobby!

Maybe summarize with this: watching my scratch built projects take wing & fly!

Re: The best part of RC

Apart from a mutal interest in model aviation with y'all...... I think I can honestly say I havent met too many guys within this hobby that I didnt like......it takes determination and persistance to put an aircraft together then spend hours learning how to fly it.....I admire those qualities in a person, these are folk I want to be associated with

Re: The best part of RC

Up to this point I'd still have to say the first time I hovered a cp heli for a full pack.... that was a while ago but stil sticks with me.

I'm just about to start my first balsa fuselage from starwoods models, a 550 super cobra, and I'm sure I'm going to feel pretty good when that's done too. This will be my first balsa anything so there's going to be a lot to learn which is going to be fun!!

Re: The best part of RC

I think my best moment was the day My son solo'd. We spend a lot of time together building and flying.

Re: The best part of RC

Aside from the many friends that I have at the field, the best part of R/C for me is:
1. when I happen to NAIL a few parts of the IMAC sequence I am working on. It's like hitting the perfect 300 yard drive right to the fairway. Thats the reason I keep coming back to the field to work on the sequence some more.
2. Seeing the plane you built from a big box of balsa wood take off for the very first time...

Re: The best part of RC

Just watching a perfect flight, with the sun glistening off the wings while the sun is setting emitting a red/orange sky and white puffy clouds in the fore ground.
Not much better a way to end a great day!

Re: The best part of RC

Best memory is my first flight ever with the nitro trainer. I'll never forget it. I also recall a near perfect day flying my Sig Kougar, might have been it's second or third time out. The performance was a new high for me, and the weather was just perfect. I went home with a big smile that day.

Re: The best part of RC

Just under 50 yrs ago a half a dozen of us guys got tired of getting kicked out of everywhere we went to fly so we pooled our money together and bought our own field out in the boonies. Over the yrs. our club members kept clearing the land a little more at a time to make the field bigger. Now the runway is about a 100 ft. wide and 400 ft. long. Now over the summer we have our annual Fathers Day Funfly. Electric funfly and the IMAA do. Very humbling to have so many guys come to our field and enjoy themselves when we started out with so little. Our club members did it all, we just supplied the dirt.
