Manitoba site ?????

I'm semi retired and have only been in RC for about seven yrs but have found everybody in this hobby/sport to be some of the most friendly and nice people I have ever met.

BUT, what is the scoop on the "other" site.

The bickering and nit picking just never ends.

Is it just me ??????????

Cheers,
Bob

Bob,
I too have met many, many awesome preople in the hobby over many years in it. But as with everything else there are exceptions to the rule

Just be glad the majority of modellers are for comraderie, friendship and promotion of this great hobby FIRST and just plain having FUN.

I as well as others have seen this trend and the site seems to be kinda dead lately .Which is to bad, it has a great start. Politics is getting in the way of the finer aspects of our hobby.
Some have even left the site because of this. Lately, even I have been tuning in here more often.

A few political types turned the site into the disgusting wart on Canadian modelling that the previous incarnation of the site was.

I made an attempt to express my view of the world but soon found the controlling group less interested in discussion than in promoting an agenda through dirty tactics tactics like;
- posting half truths
- posting one side of email discussions without the consent of participants
- spamming other groups/email discussions
- questionable vetteing practices
- slamming MAAC on all fronts (all criticism, no participation/resolution)

The final "tactic" that sent me packing was when they silently blocked a group of participants (all with a similar view) while permitting (and some participating in) staged questions and conclusions drawn in abstentia inferring guilt by non-participation.

I left and asked for my posts to be removed.... they're still there.

Proud to be an RCCanadian!

Politics

Hi Guys
I have to admit I started off in the mtba zones site but found it to political
for me. I thoroughly enjoy my time in RC Canada.ca ....very friendly people
no bickering and willing to help a newcomer. I was also helped by very nice guys on the mtba site also most are very friendly. just seems they have histories together that we don't know about.
again thankyou RC Canada for the relaxing info site

I think you are wrong in fact MOST of the members on the Manitoba site are good people with nothing better in mind than enjoying this hobby. All you have to do is look at where they post. They are active in all other forums than the General Issues and Flame EX. It is the six or seven controlling members of that site who use it as a political platform to promote their personal agenda. One only has to look at the names of the participants and compare that to the 400 some odd registered members to figure it out.

Just the political part its only a few not the whole group. Not only are most helpful but most are not political either. They never seem to post in the political parts of that forum. Thats what I meant.

Andrew's rules of Math:

Politics + Airplanes =

Flying =

Building =

Chatting about anything "airplane" =

Ordering a new "x" from the hobby shop =

To me, political topics are like trying to remember advanced vector calculus... I try and keep as far away as possible and THAT =
