Pure Heaven!!!

Check out all that router-cut wood for the fuse!! It's a mix of 1/8" German lite-ply, 1/8" aircraft-grade ply and 1/4" aircraft ply!!

Now this is going to be fun (If can figure out how to put it together!!)

Re: 58% Modellbau Pitts Build Thread - BBT

A big night completed with lots of progress on the fuse!... I'll try to catch up now with pictures!

Here are a few pictures off all the parts separated out of the flashing and all the edges sanded smooth!

These parts are huge!!! To put it in perspective, the sticks of balsa/pine are 53" long!!

Re: 58% Modellbau Pitts Build Thread - BBT

I was wondering how I could get a round fuse to be straight!! - Modellbau also includes a two-piece fuse building jig and interlocks perfectly! Both pieces have been glued together and nailed to the build table!

Re: 58% Modellbau Pitts Build Thread - BBT

This is really cool!!
All the main fuse formers have these little legs that are all pre-cut so as to get the proper alignment - very trick IMO

After the entire fuse is built, these little legs are simply cut off the fuse and the jig falls off!

For reference, the tallest former sits 26" above the work table

The formers are glued to the jig and blocked so that they are perfectly vertical.
