as long as the wire (copper) itself hasn't been cut, then you should be fine. I bought a Maxx a while ago that had a pretty beat up receiver. The insulation was cracked in many places but the copper was fine so it didn't affect my range what-so-ever.

IMO, get new receiver wire its cheap! save u a bundle by switching to geico

If you're racing lower your truck. Your driveshafts should be at least parallel to the ground.
