Hey all. I'd like to know how can I get a the factory glued Nubs off of my dish rims?
I have tried boiling them for 30 min. per side....nope
Also tried Baking them in oven at 300* for 10 min......nope
I don't know what kind of glue HPI uses to get them to stick, but its indistructable

Any one got any Ideas or tricks up their sleeves?

I just used a pair of needlenose pliers to pull the wheels of the rims, then I used a Dremel tool to remove the excess rubber and glue from the rims with the wire brush attachment which I found the best bit to use because it doesn't eat into the plastic rims.No mess no fuss (well kinda)

I've just fit my new boots on the car with no problems and used the thin CA glue to attach the rubber to the rims no problems because the Dremel tool smoothed out the surface.

Re: Unglueing HPI factory glued tires

Has anybody tried acetone yet to help remove glued tires?

Re: Unglueing HPI factory glued tires

You could try a CA debonder. Zap-A-Gap makes one and most hobby shops should carry it. Just lay a thin bead along the edge of the rim and let it soak in as it takes a bit of time for it to soften the glue.

It won't completely disolve the glue just make it soft and pliable.

You can also soak them in nailpolish remover over night and then use your hands to pull the tires off.
