well the info is useful for folks doing RC to know. However I am not going to read such a long rambling saga.

No it is not always unfortunate when certain businesses close their doors. I would dance a jig and tipple a beer or 4 if Walmart or Starbucks went out of business, for instance. ideally a feedback service like Yelp or Googe Reviews is the ideal place to post store ratings and feedback, to help folks make informed decision where to shop. Going forward this will become more standard way we check out local businesses instead of forum posts.

But hey, I do 99% of my RC buying online, and I surely to check the RCGroups forums for feedback on which vendors can be nasty and which are good. Very useful service this feedback.

I agree that online reviews are beneficial to a potential consumer when done in a constructive manner. We are all entitled to our own opinion but to publicly shame this business they way the OP did is unacceptable. I was referring to "small" business in my original post in regards to closing. There are a few "big" businesses we could do with out!

I'll date myself here, but.....how did we ever resolve problems before the internet came along?...it's seems so easy these days to get on the laptop and pound out a rant. We see it all the time here, a customer comes on RCC and rants about a business without ever calling the business first to see if things can be resolved behind the scenes.....I sometimes just don't get it....in short, if not happy, vote with your feet, shop elsewhere, it's not a tough concept.

Re: The Worst R/C Store in GTA is closing down. (I'm Very Happy)

Hey, I bought from there , and my experience was great. Friendly, got a bit of a discount on a package deal. Mind you it was a rather large purchase, but it was friendly and I was treated well. I was even offered some lessons if needed (I laughed) But it was a good experience non the less.

Too bad... always sad to see a source of parts go.

can only agree with this sentiment. World would be better off without Yelp, Google reviews, etc. The are a cesspool of unreasonable people defaming small businesses anonymously on a much larger scale than RCC. Though can often feel out the crazy ones, there are also shills on there, and competing business putting bad reviews on other businesses' feedback too. ugly

Re: The Worst R/C Store in GTA is closing down. (I'm Very Happy)

I worked in a hobby shop for 4 years (mid 80's)... I can say we got our share of "difficult" customers.. It always amazed me that these guys would complain about everything and yet keep coming back.. The owner was very tolerant of them and always assured me " the customer is always right" and that's why we had a good reputation..
There was no internet back then or forums for them to complain to.. So maybe the only place to do it was at our shop..
My take on this is " there are bitter people out there that you can't take the bitterness out of" and don't waste your time with them..

Re: The Worst R/C Store in GTA is closing down. (I'm Very Happy)

Two sides to every issue -I doubt if any business has satisfied every customer. I hate to see any LHS go under because in our small Canadian market - I think we may soon find ourselves without local hobby shops. I am definitely old school but without the free advise and guidance of the various LHS owners or employees I doubt I would have stayed with this hobby (and YES - reo was one of the best in the area so he isn`t just blowing smoke here).

I prefer to just vote with my limited dollars, but even the shops I don`t like all that much might just save my bacon with a critical part one day!!!
