Problems with a 500X

Okay I was out flying a few weeks back and the first flight up with the 500x and right from the get go something is wrong, it looked like that every input i made with the tx was delayed and had to over correct on everything just to keep the heli stable!

Then ppl started coming over to watch so that threw me into panic mode cuz I didn't need to crash it into them! So after fighting with it for a few minutes i was able to get it into ui mode 1 and did an auto rotation from 5 feet up, bounced the heli pretty good breaking the skids and chewing up the tail blades Now I checked it all over before I took off and everything seemed good the swash did its dance and the swash was tilting in the opposite directions and the inputs seemed fine as well when it was on the ground!

Now I've looked it over and nothing seems to have come loose, the beastx is still seated nice and tight, servos are moving fine nothing stripped, So what I'm wondering is what the hell happened????? Beacuse the day before I was out flying in kenora and after a mishap things were going good and managed to do some flips and figure 8s

One other thing the wind was up around 30 or 40 klicks but the day before I was flying in 60 k winds so kinda eliminated that thought, So if anyone has any ideas what could have been the cause any help will be appreciated cuz this is about the 5 or 6th crash outta 90 flights and getting to be more than a bit annoying that I can't fly it

Thanks
Sash

Hmm.. That sounds like a real mystery. Its hard to say what it is, and you are the first person I ever heard with this problem. Maybe others here have an idea what it could be. Keep us informed

Re: Problems with a 500X

Well looking around online I think I have found the problem!

It might have been a static discharge from the belt that caused the problems, so before I get it flying again I'm gonna ground the boom and maybe use a silicon spray on the belt and see if it happens again

Re: Problems with a 500X

I would double check the wiring, maybe you have a wire that's a little bit stripped. Maybe also try re binding it.

What happened after trying to eliminate the discharge? As far as I know belt caused discharge only causes small signal interference but not as such you described!

On the bench, how fast do your servos respond to stick inputs?

Re: Problems with a 500X

Sounds like something is loose, a pushrod, dog bone, servo mount, Swash plate coming apart, main rotor shaft loose, Root bolt too tight, Something is bent, loose or damaged.
