3W 70 b2 Twin

hello fellas'

I just picked up a used 3W 70 b2 twin less than 5 Gal run through it! Very nice shape! was wonder who out there has any experiance with this motor! What they had it..and how they liked it!!...I was thinking it'll go perfect in my comp-arf extra 2.3m i've seen the ZdZ 80 twin installed on this plane with out any problems!

Any oppinions are appreciated!!

this one is really nice motor to use, as my friend is using it onhis 1/3 sukhoi its a good power plant you need not to worry about this motor as what i see this motor performs superbly

so you need not to worry

The gentleman that bought the motor from me will be pleased! I ran the motor once and it ran great! then sold it! and went with the new 3W 75 ius for ease of instalment! i'm i'm glad i went with that motor it pulls like a husky!

Only rerservation I have is that 3W was (and I emphasize WAS) famous for ignition failures. Just watch for that, as I'm sure they don't all go south. If yours does, be SURE you get the new series ignition or get a Falkon. It doesn't sound like enough engine for that plane, but I'm sure it will fly fine, just maybe not accelerate straight up. Call Andy Kane, my comp-arf rep and ask him; he's a very helpful knowledgable guy. He's at (301) 785-3022 in the US.

Another suggestion for what it's worth. You might use avaition gas. Its 110 octane, which may help HP a bit, and doesn't smell like automotive gas. Anyay I've been using it in all my gassers with good results. Then I always know exactly what fuel I'm using, rather than fool around with octane guessing at the pump.

OOPS. Didn't read that you sold it. Oh well...my specialty is letting out hot air....
