"inflight fueling"
Now that's something that would be over the top accomplishment. I would pay the price of admission to see that

Re: Technology just keeps advancing
Amazing. What an engineering triumph for such small turbines.

Re: Technology just keeps advancing
Very nice , now it's it time to get into turbines. Worth it now. Very very very cool.
You know, inflight refueling would be a snap. with Fc's the way they are, and sensors , pretty easy to do an autonomous refuel sequence in a ground control that supports swarm programming... hmmmm.... |

Re: Technology just keeps advancing
Very cool, had heard this was coming but wasn't sure what level they were taking it to. Interesting how they were able to couple the starter/generator without contact. I have seen some technology called "magnetic gear" which is a contact less coupling with that also reduces the speed. Didn't think they could make it that small though.

Re: Technology just keeps advancing
Nice, more toys to play with. Crazy how technology advanced. Off topic a bit, past weekend i took out my glider that i build about 20 years ago. It is set up with a 4 channel Airtronics Vanguard FM tx/rx. It still worked after 20 years. Of course it does't have the fancy display and settings but it worked. I do not miss the collapsable antenna though. Kind of like the old bulky cell phones.
