Re: Torque Pro tp70 4 cycle
Mine did not seem to loose much rpm on the ground either , it just lost a ton of power in the air .Went from going straight up at 1/2 throttle to needing pretty near full throttle to climb, it still had lots of power to fly . The 3D hobby shop edge that I put it in is just over 15LBS for most 50-60cc 2 cycle engines that is super light but it's pretty much the break off point for good 3d power for the TP 70 so even the smallest loss makes a big difference on my setup . I have found static RPM has little to do with what a engine will do when it unloads in the air, In my case I believe the muffler prevented it from being able to unload as much causing the loss of power. anyway what plane are you mounting it in where the engine is going to stand upright so you can avoid the priming problems .

Re: Torque Pro tp70 4 cycle
Going to mount both of them on my 40% Extra.
It has two Satio 300 glow engines, nice motors, just want to get away from glow. I will miss their smooth running. There is no cowling I was thinking of apposed, only problem there is one exhaust up and one down. Check out the video link on the bottom of the page.

Re: Torque Pro tp70 4 cycle
That is pretty cool . I had a saito 300, nice engine . With the torque pro 70 you can run a bigger prop at lower rpms so it will have better low speed performance . Good on you using the correct starting method for a glow 4 cycle , guys should take note . I don't know how many times I've seen guys trying to flip 4 cycles through compression and then bitch that they kick back . or even worse they use starters when that does not work LOL. I have to think of a way to get the prime in the torque pro 70 for start up I hate using starters but the plane is to big to flip over to prime like I did with my inverted saito in my tigermoth. maybe if I put a nipple in the intake port close to the intake valve and used it to prime ??. any Ideas guys . I even tried standing the plane on it's nose to let the fuel travel into the intake valve, that worked but it's a real pain ,not to mention you get some funny looks LOL.

Re: Torque Pro tp70 4 cycle
It's going to be 12 degrees Saturday I'll try mine inverted.
First time I had someone notice proper starting procedure for a (glow) engine.

Re: Torque Pro tp70 4 cycle
yeah give her a go, let me know how you make out , You may have better luck seeing as you have no cowls, you can put your finger over the carb and really get sucking some fuel . I find 4 cycles like to be wet ,then flip them a couple times full throttle ignition off to get a bit of air then throttle down turn ignition on and boom .problem is I can't get the TP 70 wet when inverted. I have tried ignition on choke on / choke first then ignition on / all different throttle settings . I think the problem is it only gets fuel vapor not raw fuel when choking the raw fuel just runs back out the carb. It does start and most of the time not badly but there never seems to be any consistent pattern to it . anyway have fun and post some more vid. cheers Roger

Re: Torque Pro tp70 4 cycle
Had another break in the flex pipe, really thin wall to them. I made these exhaust headers at work. And a smaller muffler. Just need a elbow.
I didn't get around to a inverted run.

Re: Torque Pro tp70 4 cycle
I don't think the Teflon will take the heat that close to the engine . a gas four cycle exhaust will near glow when going flat out way hotter than a 2 cycle. better to make a steel ball and socket and use 2 springs to hold the joint together . anything that allows free movement that can't melt ,it's likely not that the pipe is thin it's because the impulses are harsh and nothing moves , it would work harden and break 1/8" wall if nothing can move. remember if the pipe can't move it will try to break the next weakest thing ,likely pull the bolts from the head . be sure to post your results. I will go the flex ball system route to see how that works and post some pictures . cheers Roger
