Re: Ottawa valley jets 2015

Ken and Gang of OVJs. I really enjoyed the day. Too bad the wind was at limits or past for some of you pilots. I don't blame you for not flying and taking the chance of damaging or worse...(nuff said).

I am looking forward to your next event. If I ever graduate Flight school, I may come with my EDF-16 that Ken Park gave me (thank you Ken).

The hat rocks as does the logo.

The wind really screwed up the audio so I reduced the levels but that didn't do much to help. Thanks for sharing it around.

Re: Ottawa valley jets 2015

A little suggestion for next year (2017). I was a spectator. I understand the spectator line had to be 75 foot back from the runway (first time I've seen such a setback) but I didnt see the reason why it was so far to one side. That made the viewing distance even longer. Behind the pilot stations and in front of the spectator parking area there was a section of grass that could have been used for some spectators. It just needed a line. This side would have the advantage of allowing the spectators to watch the pilots taxiing as well.

Re: Ottawa valley jets 2015

hi Mike,

yes, there should have been a spectator fence put on on the same side where the cars were parked. Eventually one of my friends grabbed some red tape, and put up another fence so spectators were not walking around near the runway.

There will be changes made for next year, and the spectator fencing/washrooms/food was the one major feedback from this year. Hopefully the weather will co-operate next year.

Thank you for your feedback, as its the only way we can make things better.

Best Regards,

Brent Norman

Re: Ottawa valley jets 2015

The 75ft line is Transport-Canada's Rules -

We were caught off guard with a change in the parking spot at the last minute
so we went into plan-B fix it as it developed.

I've drawn up a new possible change for 2017
