Need advice with Lipo Batteries on International Flights
Hey guys, I'm travelling abroad next month and I need to know if I'm allowed to bring two Lipo batteries (both are 3s 11.1 volt 5000mah 25c). I need to know if anyone here has ever travelled with lipos onboard international flights. I will be flying on Emirates airlines and Air Canada. Should I get approval of the airlines first? Will airport security give me a hard time? I will be putting the batteries in a lipo safe bag that's fireproof. Please help me out guys. Thanks very much.

Re: Need advice with Lipo Batteries on International Flights
I traveled with an RC helicopter, TX, chargers and 4 3S2200 lipo packs as carry-on luggage to the UK and back for years.
You must take lipos as carry-on. Checking them is a no-no. Lipo-safe bag is strongly recommended. In addition to the safety aspect, it cues Security that you are a contentious traveler. Pull the bag/lipos out of your briefcase/knapsack and lay it in the tray with your coat and belt, etc as you would a laptop. Be prepared to answer security if they ask. Be honest and PLEASANT. I have been questioned every now and again, but I have never had an issue in 4 yrs of flying like this. PS- NEVER carry-on tools. They will be confiscated. Make sure you put all tools in your checked baggage.
