You guys are right: Canadian Tire doesn't have the white GG so I bought the brown stuff.

I hope I don't have to mingle with the ladies at the craft shop in order to buy the white GG :=)

Canucks won and the weekend is looking good. Ken

The CT in Maple Ridge doesn't carry white GG, nor does Michaels.

Re: Gorilla Glue for Foam???

Our CT here, carries the white glue, Cranbrook B.C. Also we have been flying foamies in the winter around here and use the epp foam to build the planes. Myself and others, have used welders adhesive and UHU Por with great success. It is very pliable and has a rubbery texture to it. The down side is it takes overnight to cure properly.

Re: Gorilla Glue for Foam???

Apparently the brown GG is stronger that the white - not that it matter for gluing EPO.

Tip, I use packing tape to 'clamp' the joint to hold it together while it cures.

Tip 2...If you put packing tape over the joint, when you peel it off (the tape) you get a nice smooth finish, so you don't need to sand - if you do it right

Sure, but you will definitely need to paint a heck of a lot more....

No doubt....but given you (they, whoever) just had a crash bad enought to need GG glue to patch it back together...painting is the least of their worries

Re: Gorilla Glue for Foam???

I use green painters tape to control the GG from spreading, works well, and usually doesn't pull up the paint.

Re: Gorilla Glue for Foam???

I fail to understand why people even use gorilla glue.

Best deal in the world, 5 minute epoxy from dollarama! $1.50ca. For putting foamie humpty dumpties back together again, you'll be amazed. Once epoxied, foam will never brake in the same place again.
The only caution here is to be sure to wipe away all excess glue very well cause it turns kinda brown after a while.

Re: Gorilla Glue for Foam???

The polyurethane glues fill gaps as epoxy does not as well.

Re: Gorilla Glue for Foam???

For touching up after epoxy, I use lepage polifilla spackling compound, sand paper and paint and done.
