155MPH FunJet Ultra!!

Well, I've been reading so much about these FunJets, that I went and picked up the new Funjet Ultra.

I also picked up a really sweet ARC 28-47-1.5 motor and will run it on 4S-3600 Lipo with a 100Amp ESC. There are a few verified reports of this combo doing 155mph on the original FunJet, so time will tell if the new FunJet Ultra will be faster yet!!

Should be a screamer - rpm I'm hearing is around 33,000 rpm!!

Here are a few pictures...

The Elevon servos are the recommended Hitec 65MG servos.

Horns, linkage, etc all done - can get any easier!!

Let's put this all into perspective...

155mph is 127 feet per second. By the time you finished reading that last sentence, this ultra has gone almost 400 feet. Now that's 'zoom zoom'.

And I can't wait!!

I normally fly the giant scale stuff - big Extras/Edges/Yaks/etc that can loaf along at 10kph!!! This is my first try at high-speed stuff, so it should be a real adrenaline rush!!!

Careful Trev! Building one of thease foam ARFs can be tricky. Do you have any previous building experience

Just remember... EPO uses regular CA Glue Sand down any matting surfaces to open the styro cells and apply CA.

Re: 155MPH FunJet Ultra!!

Here are a few shots of the wings together and the big carbon-fiber spar in place.

The mating surfaces of the wings were sanded and then glued with 30 min epoxy. The CF spar tube was also glued in with 30-min epoxy.
