I'm still missing something in how to set this up.

Doesn't setting the grip mixing arm and the linkage rod at 90 degrees just set the blade grip angle at about zero?

I'm able to set it up like that, but the problem of the setting the swash, lower mixing arms and flybar cage level at mid-stick remains. To do that, I need to raise the swashplate. Once I do that, there's only 3mm left between the washout housing and the rotor housing, which restricts the amount of positive pitch I can have.

When you set yours up, how much room was there between the washout housing and the rotor housing?

The alignment arms to the bell crank do their job no matter where they are on the main shaft that is why there is no need for adjustment on them. Now of course you will have to reset all your radio settings or change the position of the bellcranks on the servos.
Are you saying that the lower mixing arms don't need to be level at mid-stick?

The lower mixing arms do not have to be level. What type of flying do you do?

Ineresting. Everything I've seen so far says to level the arms.

If the lower mixing arms don't have to be level, then the setup should be staight forward.

My flying? Beginner, check-the-insurance-policy type. I'm still learning the basics. For now, any 3D moves are unintentional. I hope to learn some 3D later on though.

Yes, I have. Lot's of good info there. I was using his 450 head setup video as a guide.

Re: TRex 450 Sport V2 linkage rods too short?

I have set up many helis to fly with my style of flying which is 2 years worth of barely flying safely. Those lower arms are for phasing that means it keeps the linkage at a certain position is relation to the head and swash plate. I have yet to even notice the angle of those arms because unless it is radical it won't make a lot of difference with your flying. Those arms have the ability to travel farther than the swash plate can be moved by the servos and I have made my own heads as well as phase them too.

Great. That solves my problem.

Thanks.

Re: TRex 450 Sport V2 linkage rods too short?

I set all my rods to the lengths in the book and its fine. everything works like it should. Also my setup is level 0 position for everything except the grips. I have +10/-10 degrees pitch. Im kind of confused why yours isnt as straight forward.

Glad you figured it out.

Interesting that you can set yours up, but I can't get my mixing arms level.

I'll have to go through my build / setup again to see if I've missed something. If you've set yours up, I can't blame my problems on the hardware (darn).

Thanks very much for your input.

There a chance that you got the pro non-adjustable links as opposed to the sport links?.It has happened before and they are different
