Wow! Thanks guys. I'll give Fey a bit more time and then will purchase a new carb as per all the great advice. I will post a pic of the carb as well as some Pietenpol pics. I just came back from fling it this evening and spotted 8 moose, umpteen deer, flew beside a pelican, (d4m that's a big bird!), all while giving a a French airforce pilot what he called the trill of his life. Man I love this country!

It is positively a TN-11 carb, it was purchased new, years ago and never worked right out of the box. It has in storage for a long time. I mounted it on a showtime 4D a couple years ago but sadly only ever flew it once due to both radio and engine issues. Just getting round to reviving it.

Re: Webra 1.20 speed needs help

Only other thing I could think of is possibly dirt in the needle valve. Had a friend that had an issue that didn't show up until in flight and a rough running engine and would stop every time in flight. Tried everything in the book and even took out the HS needle valve and flushed fresh fuel thru the carb to no avail. Finally took the carb all apart and used a toothpick to dislodge enough "dirt" equal to the match head of a wooden match. This is even after filtering the fuel. Engine ran like a Rolex after that.

Good luck and hope you get it resolved.

Re: Webra 1.20 speed needs help

We'll never got hold of Fey, tried phoning and e-mail, oh well! Mounted an old OS carb from a .70 heli, spent some time setting it up, used a Zinger 16-5 and some 5%XP fuel, idles like a Swiss watch, accelerates from extended very low idle whith a snap a pulls like a Clydesdale! RPM? Who cares! I can barely hold the fuse at WOT! Should hover at 1/2 throttle! Thank-you all for your generous advice.

Re: Webra 1.20 speed needs help

You can try a Perry carb. I think they are a material other than Al. Got one years ago for a .60 and it worked well. (Needed a little more oomph and got a little bigger throat). Be careful with porting as I ruined three sleeves before I was happy with the timing in a racing application. But if you are polishing, use common sense.
