Well here's my newest addition to the fleet! Off to a slow start but all the hinging is done, and what seems to be another winner for QQ aircraft, the build of this ship so far seems well done everything fits snug and no big surprizes! After retiring the Carden to good hands I thought i go with this new Gen IV yak, something about round cowls! After owning 2 other yaks from QQ i find them to fly surperb! And i like the scheme of this one really stands out!

Here's the tale of the tape!

QQ yak 54 Gen IV
ZDZ 100cc
pefa Canisters
MTW flex headers
Beila 27x10 carbon fiber prop (no spinner yet)
4 JR 8611a servo's for the wings
1 JR 8711 for the rudder
1 JR 8411 for the throttle
2 Hitec 5955 for the elevater halfs
All SWB servo Arms
All Dubro heavy duty hardware
2 Power expander 3D equilizers for wings
Power Expander pro
power expander super reg
2 42% lipo's for receiver
fomeco wolverine dual balancing switch

There's still more to buy pilot, spinner, and a few others but i'm taking my time as long as it's ready for spring!
This is my winter build this yaer, since last year i never put anything together..slow and steady!...and that's not by choice! lol!!

here's a couple pictures, will add more as i continue to build this beast!

Re: QQ yak Gen IV

Love the T.V in the work area
Great looking plane!
I am sure it will fly great.
Are you sure that only 1 8711 is enough for the rud?
I myself am putting together a 33% AW Yak 54 (85cc). I bought 1 8711 for it but I am started to wonder if this is good enough.

Re: QQ yak Gen IV

micheal,

You'll be fine with one JR 8711. I checked out QQ's support forum on RCU.
This was one of the concerns on there..REZA who answers all the questions on this forum replied to it posting it would be enough!..we'll see it's a big powerhouse servo!

Thanks i like to watch a little T.V when i'm workin'..lol!..but really when the boys come and hang out with me in there it keeps their little fingers of of everything!

Talking Re: QQ yak Gen IV

Can we expect to see this flying by spring

And if that will be a reality, will the pilots skills be much improved with the new toilet trainer

Re: QQ yak Gen IV

It looks great, I am going to start building the exact same airplane here in Fort McMurray.

For setup this is what I am using:

8x Futaba 9156.
1X Futaba 3050 for the throttle
3 MSA-10 Futaba Synchronizers
Airwild servo arms
2 x lipos 7.4V 2600mah Fromeco w/ Duralite regulators
1 x lipo 7.4V 2150 w/regulator for the ignition
TME smoke system
DL 100
Prop XOAR 27B (I will test it with it and see how it performs)
or a Mejzlik 27X10 CF
MTW 75 cans front discharge.
Guide by a Futaba 9CAP in 2.4Ghz.

I am very excited to her on the air!!!! I personally love QQ products they are top notch.

Winters are long and cold up here, so still a few more months to go. I will start working on it in mid January or so, otherwise I will lose my mind looking at it and not being able to fly it

In the mean time is foamy season!!!!!

Cheers,

Will
