Re: Blue Foamie

Are the wings (and other parts of the airplane) milled? Not obvious on the picture?

Re: Blue Foamie

Hi Real
The only milling done is for the CF tubes and some of the plywood plates.
I forgot to mention that I use one 5s 5000mA cell

How heavy is the plane? That's a pretty strapping motor!

It weighs 4lbs 10oz AUW, perfect combination, you can certainly use less power if you don't need 3D.

Wow! I thought it'd be a lot lighter being foam, but now that I think of it that foam is more dense and all plus all the glue and electronics.

3D all the way

Re: Blue Foamie

How do you balance such a big battery on the airplane? I think I would have went with two 3S batteries, one on each side of the fuselage.

Almost 5lbs??? Electronic including the heavy motor probably should not be much more than 1-1.5lbs... That sound heavy. I'm sure your wife is playing a trick on you, and played with your scale so you stop eating sooo much!

There is a slot in the fuselage for the battery, it sits in the center. The battery alone weighs more than 1 pound. I think the weight is perfect, that's why it flies so well in the wind.
